The Senckenberg Museum is another great retreat.
Tons of Dinosaur bones, stuffed animals and strange fossils.
I loved the different crab species and the fossils of an ancient
sea predator called "Dunkleusteus terelli", 6-8 meters long and vicious.

This is a female rhino, seperated from its male partner.
The male rhino seemed to be in a love rage, walking up and
down nervously while his girlfriend seemed rather relaxed,
chewing grass.
Reptiles are almost as cooperative as plants, in terms of holding a posture. They can have surprising mood swings and turn from lethargy to hysteria in an instant.
The Palmgarden is a beautiful retreat not far from our apartment. The glasshouses are beautifully made in Jugendstil. The gardens are kept in very good shape and it feels rejuvinating to visit at any season. In the summer you can hang out on the meadows and go rowing on the little lake and in the winter you can warm up inside the glasshouses. I haven't drawn plants too often, but I find it very relaxing. Unlike animals they stay still, which makes the job easier. I love the complicated names: Tillandsia seleriana f.e.
